One rainy February night in Santa Monica, California, the staff of Street Chopper converged onto the Bergamot Station Art Gallery and were greeted with endless PBR tall boys. Why you ask?

Harley-Davidson teamed up with the Robert Berman Gallery and produced an art show dubbed the Art of Rebellion that featured some of today's most prolific artists who in turn gave us a glimpse into their own inner upheaval. Among the eleven contributors were Tara McPherson, Mark Dean Veca, Alex Pardee, Christian Clayton and the ever-rebellious Frank Kozic, who were given a sporty tank by H-D to do their thing on as well as some primo wall space to hang their related artwork.

Other artists added a bit of their own impact, such as Shepard Fairey with his painting of Johnny Ramone, and Adam Wright with his photo of Chopper Dave's ass.

Harley also used this opportunity to launch its latest Dark Custom offering, the 883 Iron. Though it looks to be a pretty nice bike from the factory, we are crossing our fingers to see a few of them severely chopped up in the near future.

The show was packed with people and many of the art pieces were sold early on. This was a good thing since proceeds of this event went to the Art Matters Foundation, which gives a helping hand to the future groundbreakers of the art world.

Word is that Harley is planning a few more of these types of events in different parts of the country so keep an ear to the ground. SC
